Parents Make Ontario’s Class Size Problem Personal
This week’s spotlight is The NOW Group and a toolkit they created for the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario to bring attention to budget cuts that lead to larger class sizes and unmet student needs.
On the website, parents enter their child’s class size. Using SoSha’s image overlay feature, that number is automatically added to the graphic and carried into a ready-to-share post.
The power here is in the personalization: instead of sharing a generic message, each parent is sharing something that reflects their own experience. As a result, the post helps bring attention to the issue through the voices of those directly affected.
