Empower Project will build on SoSha’s infrastructure layer to bring advanced social sharing capabilities directly into the Empower App, offering organizers a new type of mobilization action.
Empower Project builds programs and tools that help organizations activate communities through relational organizing, supporters reaching out to friends, family, and trusted networks to drive change. The Empower App is trusted by more than 1,500 organizations nationwide.
With this new offering, organizers can create custom, ready-to-share social posts for their mobilizers directly in the app. Mobilizers can then personalize and distribute those posts across their networks, expanding reach through authentic relationships. The integration also gives organizers clear analytics, including who is sharing, where content is spreading, which platforms perform best, and what messages resonate most.
With 53% of American adults getting news from social platforms at least sometimes and roughly one-third citing social media as their primary news source, influence increasingly runs through online networks. Social media amplification helps authentic messages travel beyond an organization’s owned channels by scaling people-to-people sharing.
“For organizing to keep up, progressives need to connect offline relationships with the online conversations that are already shaping how people see the world,” said Amanda Brink, Executive Director at Empower Project. “By integrating with SoSha, we are bringing relational organizing into the digital space in a way that is actually measurable.”
This integration builds on a long-standing partnership between Empower and SoSha to make social media amplification a scalable extension of relational organizing ahead of elections. In 2025 alone, , Empower’s community shared more than 36,000 posts, generating 20 million+ impressions.
The highest-impact programs included the 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court race, as well as statewide elections in Pennsylvania and Virginia in November.
“Empower understands that organizing and digital are strongest when they move together,” said Avi Zollman, customer success lead at SoSha. “By adding social media amplification directly into their app, they provide the tools to turn authentic digital relationships online into real offline impact. It’s the next phase of relational organizing when the media landscape is always changing.”
The new feature powered by SoSha to create Social Media Toolkits will be available this spring.
