Watch the full session to learn how to build a modern relational organizing strategy and activate trusted networks leading up to election day.
On March 18th, SoSha co-led a session on modern relational organizing with Empower Project and Innovation Ohio.
Traditional tactics like going door to door or phone banking have become less effective with each election cycle. Organizers today must double down on relational organizing strategies that rely on trusted networks and digital distribution to educate and mobilize voters.
Joined by Sondra Milkie, Paid Relational Director at the Empower Project, and Michael McGovern, President of Innovation Ohio, we explored how successful relational organizing functions as a three-legged stool, built on:
Mobilizers activating their personal networks
Fact-based and tested messaging that informs and persuades
Social media amplification to distribute messages at scale
Together, these components turn supporters into messengers—getting everyday people talking to friends and family about everyday issues and upcoming elections.
