Creating posts for your campaigns

Updated: Oct 12, 2023

Posts are the primary building blocks of SoSha campaigns. As you share your campaigns, posts are the way your networks will interact and share your content. This entry explains the key elements of posts and how to craft them.

The SoSha Post Creation Menu allows you to create new posts and manage the posts you've created.

The SoSha Post Creation Menu is accessible through your campaign's main menu under "Posts." This menu consists of two distinct sections. The first section is where you can create new posts to include in your campaign. The second section is where you preview previously created posts and make edits as needed. With the multi-select feature, campaign managers can select multiple posts at a time to duplicate, delete, publish, move to draft, and move to a new campaign.

  • Social Media - Select the social media platforms you want to share your posts. SoSha posts can be shared on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Direct Messaging (Whatsapp and iMessage), and all apps on mobile devices

  • Text - Enter the text you want to have as a caption for your social media post. Remember that if you want your post to be used on Twitter, it must meet Twitter's 280-character limit. We have a character count at the bottom to keep track of this limit. Any hashtags can be inserted into this section

  • Link - Add a link to the content you want to promote. Your link will be converted into a link hosted by or your custom domain, enabling us to monitor click activity.

  • Link Caption - Enter a short phrase/call to action that will display at the bottom of your social media post and it will display above your link. You may enter a unique caption per post. You may also utilize the global caption for shared links by clicking on the 'Action' menu and then 'Set Defaults.'

  • Image, Video, Giphy - Add an image, video, or GIF relevant to the post. The image or video will upload natively on all social media platforms for mobile devices. For desktop users, the content will be downloaded, and then users must upload it to the social platform. Here are a few image ratio suggestions:

    • For Facebook and Twitter, use a 1.91:1 aspect ratio. Click here for a template.

    • For LinkedIn, WhatsApp and other direct messaging, use a square image. Click here for a template.

    • For Instagram, we recommend a range of specifications, from 1x1 to 1.91x1, for the feed. Click here for a template.

    • Requirements for Images, Video, and GIF upload

      • Images must be less than 32 MB and less than 6000 pixels. We support the upload of PNG, JPG/JPEG/MJPEG, BMP, WEBP, and TIFF.

      • Videos must be less than 128 MB, less than 90 seconds long, and less than 4000 pixels

      • GIFs must be less than 64 MB, less than 30 seconds long, and less than 4000 pixels

  • Native Video Sharing

    • To upload a video, simply drag and drop the video

    • Sharing Native Videos on Desktop:

      • Our platform will automatically download the video file and copy the post caption to the clipboard

      • Users will then see a pop-up screen asking for their permission to continue to their preferred social media network

      • Inside the social network, the user simply selects the downloaded file and pastes the post caption from their clipboard

    • Sharing Native Videos on Mobile:

      • Our platform will open the phone's share menu so that the user can select their preferred app

      • After choosing the app, the user can select which posting feature they want to use the video for (e.g. a story, or post)

      • The video then gets automatically carried over to the app. In some apps (e.g. Twitter, Whatsapp) the text is also carried over automatically

        • In cases where the text is not carried over, the user can easily paste it from their clipboard

  • Embed GIF or Video from a live Tweet

    • Native Twitter GIF

    • Native Twitter Video

      • Choose a Tweet with an embedded video and click on "copy link to Tweet"

      • In the copied link, delete everything after the status number and add /video/1

      • When creating a post on SoSha, copy the Twitter video link in the "add link" field and add a picture that would let your sharers know what they will be sharing (e.g a screenshot of the video)

      • When a user shares the post via SoSha, it will pick up the Twitter video link.

      • Once it's posted on Twitter, the video will display and play directly in the Twitter app. Viewers of the Tweet will therefore be able to play the video in the Twitter app without being redirected to another website.

While designing your posts, you can view the post preview on your right. Below the post preview is a checklist of essential elements to be included in your post: Text, Image/Video/Gif/Giphy, Link, Link Caption, and social media platforms.

As you design your posts, a preview of it will be shown on the right along with a checklist of items to include.

The "Posts" section compiles all created posts within the campaign, allowing you to view, revise or delete them at will. If you've already shared your campaign with your networks, you can still change posts and any changes will be reflected in the sharing toolkit and other SoSha materials.

When you completed designing your post, you can either post it to your live campaign or save the post as a draft. As a draft, you can continue to edit a post and it will not be on your live campaign until you publish it.

AI Writing Assistant

The AI Writing Assistant is designed to save our users' time as it provides suggestions for higher social media engagement and generates new versions of copy tailored to different social networks.

AI Editing

As you input copy to design your post, the AI will scan for opportunities to optimize engagement. Simply click the 'idea' button on the right side of the text box and select ‘Generate Copy’ to view the new version.

AI Generated Post Variations

This tool creates post variations for different social networks with our tool without manual copywriting. The Writing Assistant customizes the original post to adapt to each social network's format.

After designing a post, a pop-up will prompt you to create a new version for another social network using the Writing Assistant. Select the desired social networks for the new post variation. Alternatively, you can select a post and choose 'Generate AI Copy' from the right-hand side toolbar.

Once the copy is generated, you can further customize the post by clicking 'Adjust Tone,' selecting a keyword, or inputting your own. You can even translate posts by adding a language in the keyword section.

Fill-in-the-blank functionality allows for even easier customization of posts by your audience. Users will only need to click on the empty field to insert their own copy, making post personalization simple and efficient.

To add a blank field, you just need to type anything inside double brackets. For example:

[[insert something]], [[type here]], [[add your reason here]], [[enter text]]

Here's a video tutorial on how to insert fill-in-the-blanks into your toolkit.
